# Thymulin papers

> Reading list — Functional Medicine Zurich — The Functional Medicine Zurich reading list covers thymulin's zinc chemistry, antibody recognition, human assays, ageing and experimental delivery.

**Reading list**

The chemistry is the starting point. Human samples, mouse tissue and treatment experiments give it different kinds of company.

## Begin with recognition

The [zinc-dependent epitope paper](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2413455/) is my preferred entrance: the recognisable form and its biological activity are examined together. The [original metal-removal experiment](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/6957870/) and the [review of zinc-thymulin interactions](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18476235/) supply the chemical context.

## Then change the experimental setting

The [human zinc-deficiency study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3262625/), [old-mouse organ culture](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/8582786/) and [mouse lung gene therapy](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24556417/) are useful companions precisely because their materials differ. For the human intervention literature, my pair would be the [controlled nonathymulin trials](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3310925/) beside the [open FTS-Zn trial](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3427844/) for their different designs and preparations.

Functional Medicine Zurich gathers my arguments about published research on thymulin's working parts; it has no medical business behind it and provides no medical advice.
